Claim. M. W. Alomari's note A simple direct proof of the Erdős–Straus conjecture (Authorea, 6 February 2023, version 2 of 21 February 2023; also OSF, 10 February 2023, and Research Square, 15 February 2023) claims that for every n≥2n\ge2 the fraction 4/n4/n is a sum of three unit fractions; its abstract says that the note proves the conjecture and that Sierpiński's conjecture follows. Through the Formulation of Problem 242, which records how a representation becomes one with three distinct terms, this is a claim of the whole problem.

Standing. Claimed. The note reached the site's discussion thread through a comment of 18 November 2025 that links its ResearchGate posting and strongly doubts it; a reply of the same day calls the paper very mistaken, with unclear or false steps from p. 2 on, and the site's owner adds that none of the proofs of the conjecture the site's owner has looked at seemed credible. These are opinions, not a refutation record, so the claim stays pending rather than rejected. The note is not refereed, it was not submitted to the site's proof-claim tab, no one has accepted it, and the site labels the problem FALSIFIABLE. The page rests on the abstract and the posting records; the argument is unexamined.
